Outcome |
ASSESSING 2022-23 (OPERATIONS): Students participating in The Level Up Program at Level 1, 1A and 1B on the Operations Team will learn and demonstrate proficiency in multiple areas of event strikes and setups; learn and apply knowledge of digital and analog audiovisual PA systems and event technology; learn and demonstrate an understanding of emergency evacuation procedures; and learn and demonstrate basic customer service. Students will also demonstrate proficiency in Student Affairs Learning Dimensions one through four (Problem Solving; Professionalism; Teamwork; Communication). This combined with over 10.5 hours of mandatory UC-employee training will prepare the students for success in their current roles and prepare them for promotion to Level 2 of the four-level program.
Students must complete 75 hours of experience at L1A and an additional 150 hours of experience at L1A or L1B to be eligible for promotion to Level 2.
MISSION STATEMENT: Foster the academic, social, and cultural mission of the university with student involvement and development opportunities via employment and mentoring outside the classroom in a world-class facility offering year-round conference and event production services.
STUDENT AFFAIRS LEARNING DOMAIN: Professional and Administrative Skills
CAS DOMAINS: Knowledge acquisition, construction, integration and application; Practical competence |
Benchmark |
Pre/Post Tests
Students participating in the program at Level 1 complete an L1A Pre Test. Once these students have received enough training to promote to L1A, they complete the L1A Post Test. To be successful, students must pass with a score of at least 70%.
Student Performance
Student performance is assessed without a rubric by supervision.
1:1 Interviews/Supervisor Observation
Competency in the four Student Affairs Learning Dimensions is assessed with a pre-determined rubric. Students receive up to four points across each Dimension for a total of 16 possible points. This is done during 1:1 interviews with each student prior to promotion. Low scores may prohibit the student from promoting to the next level without specialized or additional training if helpful.
Checklist:
The Level Up Program is a learning management system that serves as a checklist of assigned training with a quiz builder.
Other:
Students participating at Level 1A must complete at least 75 hours of experience and an additional 150 hours must be comleted at either L1A or L1B to be eligible for promotion to Level 2 of the four-level program. |
