Outcome |
ASSESSING 2022-23 (MOBILE DEVELOPMENT): Students participating in The Level Up Program at Levels 3 and 4 as an IT Mobile Developer will learn and apply the OKR method of goal-setting; learn and apply key principles of scrum methodology in an agile environment; learn and apply project management techniques; demonstrate proficiency with Github developer repository; learn and demonstrate fundamentals of Amazon Web Services; demonstrate a high-level understanding of the system design of a mobile software project; understand version control systems and why they are important in team software development environments; demonstrate ability to produce clean, structured, well-documented code based on specifications. Students will also demonstrate proficiency in Student Affairs’ Learning Dimensions one through four (Problem Solving; Professionalism; Teamwork; Communication). This combined with approximately nine hours of mandatory UC-employee training will prepare the students for success in their current role and prepare them for future professional settings.
Students participating at Level 3 must complete 300 experience hours to be eligible for promotion Level 4.

Post Tests
Students must pass the L3 Software Developer Quiz (Part 1) with a score of at least 66% and the L3 Software Developer Quiz (Part 2A Wayfinder) with a score of at least 75% and L3 Software Developer Quiz (Part 2B Mobile-iOS) with a score of at least 65% or (Part 2B Mobile-Android) with a score of at least 65%. And students must pass the open-book Dev Team's Approach to Performance Excellence quiz with a score of at least 80%.
Student Products
Student products (portfolio pieces) are rated without a rubric via peer review.
Student Performance
Student performance is assessed without a rubric via bi-weekly sprint meetings divided into three parts. Students demonstrate time and project management during part one called Sprint Planning. Students demonstrate performance during part two called Sprint Review. The students demonstrate Student Affairs Learning Dimensions during part three called the Sprint Retrospective. These sprints are moderated by experienced marketing and creative professionals.
1:1 Interviews
Competency in the four Student Affairs Learning Dimensions is assessed with a pre-determined rubric. Students receive up to four points across each Dimension for a total of 16 possible points. This is done during 1:1 interviews with each student prior to promotion. Low scores may prohibit the student from promoting to the next level without specialized or additional training if helpful.
