This combined with approximately nine hours of mandatory UC-employee training will prepare the students for success in their current roles and prepare them for promotion to Level 3 of the 4-level program. Students must complete 250 hours of experience at Level 1 and 200 hours of experience at Level 2 to be eligible for promotion to Level 3. STUDENT AFFAIRS LEARNING DOMAIN: Professional and Administrative Skills CAS DOMAINS: Knowledge acquisition, construction, integration and application; Cognitive complexity; Practical competence
Benchmark Pre/Post Tests and Surveys New hires complete a “New-Hire Assessment” during the onboarding process prior to receiving training. This assessment consists of pre test questions and pre survey questions. After training, students receive a unit quiz or survey that corresponds to a section of the New-Hire Assessment for pre/post comparison. To be successful, students must pass each unit quiz with a score of at least 80%. Student Products Student products (portfolio pieces) are rated without a rubric via a formal review process called the routing process. Each piece is reviewed by peers, and by marketing and creative professionals, by customers and executive sponsors and key stakeholders in the form of feedback based on project objectives and brand guidelines. This feedback is used to instruct the student and used to assess the student’s progress and competency. Designs that are marked as approved have met or exceeded all expectations and are readied for print or other publication. Student Performance Student performance is assessed without a rubric via bi-weekly sprint meetings divided into three parts. Students demonstrate time and project management during part one called Sprint Planning. Students demonstrate performance during part two called Sprint Review. The students demonstrate SA Learning Dimensions during part three called the Sprint Retrospective. These sprints are moderated by experienced marketing and creative professionals. 1:1 Interviews Competency in the four Student Affairs Learning Dimensions is assessed with a pre-determined rubric. Students receive up to four points across each Dimension for a total of 16 possible points. This is done during 1:1 interviews with each student prior to promotion. Low scores may prohibit the student from promoting to the next level without specialized or additional training if helpful. Checklist: The Level Up Software is a learning management system that serves as a checklist of assigned training with a quiz builder. Other: Students participating at Level 1 must complete at least 250 hours of experience and student participating at Level 2 must complete at least 200 hours of experience before being eligible for promotion to Level 3 of the four-level program.
